Dragonborn, denizens of the Forgotten Realms, are a people forged by an ancient and mystical covenant with dragons, a bond that etches destiny into flesh and soul. Born under omens and starry skies, they carry draconic marks that whisper of magic and fate: a solitary sigil upon pale skin or an entire mantle of iridescent scales reminiscent of the dragons that once soared over the lands of Faerûn.

In the shadowed corridors of history, these dragonbound souls emerged not from mere mingling of bloodlines but from a deliberate design of fate. Their eyes, sometimes glinting with molten amber and other times deep as midnight obsidian, mirror the ageless lore of their draconic patrons. In every quiet village and sprawling citadel, from the windswept coasts of the Sword Coast to the hidden enclaves of the High Forest, Dragonborn serve as both guardians and artisans of everyday wonder.

Some take to the skies, forming a fabled fellowship with dragons; a partnership that blends breathtaking aerial grace with an unyielding resolve to protect the realms. Others find solace in the hearth of community life, tending to traditions that honor the simple joys of creation, whether baking bread in a bustling market town or crafting intricate relics imbued with subtle magic. In this duality of purpose lies their enduring strength, a testament to a culture that cherishes both the fierce fire of their lineage and the warm light of everyday hope.

Draconic Ancestry

You have resistance to one damage type of your choice.

Draconic bonding

You can use Constitution instead of your spellcasting modifier to cast spells. You do not need an arcane focus as you are soul bound with draconic magic.

Breath Weapon

You can use your action to exhale destructive energy. When you use your breath weapon, each creature in either a 5 by 30 foot line or 15 foot cone must succeed on a saving throw, the type of which is determined by your draconic ancestry. The DC for this saving throw equals 8 + your Constitution modifier + your proficiency bonus. A creature takes a number of d6 equal to your proficiency modifier of damage.

You can use this feature a number of times per long rest equal to your Constitution Modifier, or by expending a 1st level or higher spell slot.

Toughness

Your hit point maximum increases by 1, and it increases by 1 every time you gain a level.
